Answer Collegiate JacketThis is the complement to some of the other Answer Jackets featured on this site. For a complete list, see this page.

Otherwise this jacket is all black. It features hand-warmer pockets and a sturdy full-length front zipper.

Don’t expect this jacket to keep you dry in the rain. For that, see the Stadium Jacket. That one’s less colorful than this one, though.

Alpinestars S-MX 6 Gloves | Breathable Cordura for Streetbikes, Motocross

Posted on: Feb 27

Alpinestars S-MX 6 GlovesCheck out the customer reviews on these gloves and you’ll be satisfied that they are a great deal. But if you’re looking for something a bit more rugged, or if you want leather, check out the Alpinestars SP-S model.

Still here? Great!

These gloves feature a knuckle guard that is reinforced with Cordura and a palm with Clarino. Got that? Ok, let us explain. Cordura is an abrasion-resistant fabric that is often used in making luggage and backpacks. Clarino is a synthetic leather that feels supple like leather, but provides a better grip.

Other than those two enhancements, these gloves are designed to breath. The mesh on the top panels and fingers, as well as the vented sidewalls allow air circulation throughout.

They are available in Black, Blue or Red.

Alpinestars 7-2 Leather Motorcycle Jacket

Posted on: Feb 26

Alpinestars 7-2 Leather JacketYou’ll stand out in this bright-yellow leather jacket from Alpinestars. But don’t worry, it’s also available in orange/white and black/gray.

The ful-grain leather ranges from 1.2 to 1.4 millimeters, making this a moderately lightweight jacket. That provides the abrasion resistance without being too bulky. Included is a thermal inner vest for extra warmth, if the leather isn’t enough.

The shoulder and elbow pads are removable and are CE-rated. That CE-rating is the European Union’s highest rank for this type of pad. The back features a compartment for a protective pad. Included is a foam pad that is not CE-rated, but CE-rated ones are available separately.

The waist features a zipper for attaching this jacket to alpinestars pants.

Alpinestars Gloves SP-S | Leather, Carbon and Kevlar | Motocross and Sportbike Gloves

Posted on: Feb 26

Alpinestars SP-S Motocross, Sportbike GlovesI doubt these gloves will stop a bullet, but they are pretty darn strong.

The full-grain genuine leather is just the start. The palms are constructed with a second layer made of Kevlar-reinforced leather. The back of the hand features additional protective carbon fiber, while the fingers have a second layer of leather.

The palm also features Clarino for an extra-secure grip. Want to know what Clarino is? It’s a synthetic leather with multiple layers including polyurethane and a finish coat. This makes it feel like leather but gives it the extra grip.

The cuffes are short for flexibility and easy on/off. They close with a velcro strap.

Alpinestars Tech 8 Boots for Motocross, MX, Dirt Bikes

Posted on: Feb 23

Alpinestars Tech 8 BootsThese are some of the most popular dirt bike boots you can find. They’re pretty slick looking too.

The genuine, full-grain leather upper has been redesigned to allow for improved flexibility, while the four-buckle aluminum buckle system features a “memory” that allows it to quickly revert to its previous position. They also sport a rubber gaiter for keeping out the rain.

The safety features are too numerous to mention here. But suffice it to say that they’ve got an extended inside plate, contoured calf protector, steel heel and sole guards, a “reverse closure” style for additional impact protection, and more. The only way to be safer is not to ride!

Available in gray on black (shown), red on black, white on black, and black on white.

Cardo Scala Rider Q2 | Bluetooth Motorcycle Intercom

Posted on: Feb 20

Cardo Scala Rider Q2 Helmet HeadsetThis is the do-it-all headset you’ve been waiting for. You have been waiting for that, haven’t you?

This is the successor to the popular Scala Rider Helmet Headset from Cardo Wireless. This new Q2 version allows you to listen to GPS instructions, communicate with a passenger, make mobile phone calls and listen to the built-in FM radio. It also has improved battery life over its predecessor as well as supporting the new Bluetooth version 2.0 standard.

Inter-bike communication supports up to three riders within a 1,600 foot range. In practice, that spec is only for wide-open terrain. In urban environments, you’ll likely experience about half of that range.

Communication is full-duplex — not the walkie-talkie single-duplex method where one person has to stop talking to let the other person start. If you like to interrupt your partner, this is the headset for you!

In addition, both the rider and passenger can independently use the FM radio or the mobile phone connectivity.

Note, however, that only one audio connection is allowed at a time, so don’t expect to have three-way conference calls or to listen to GPS directions while talking on your mobile phone.

Finally, the speaker adjusts its volume automatically, depending on the noise level of your surroundings, so you don’t need to be constantly fiddling with the volume buttons. These headsets are compatible with older versions of the Scala Rider, though the range is even more limited when using these older models.
